Democratic Priorities in Shutdown Fight

“MAGA campaigned on lowering costs for all Americans, but the second they had the option to lift us up, they sold us out to billionaires and special interests. Their plan is to kick 15 million Americans off their healthcare, take food from hungry kids, raise everyday costs of food, healthcare, and utilities––all to give the one percent the biggest tax cut in history. The grift and corruption of MAGA needs to stop; Americans can’t afford it. 

Instead of simply going along, Democrats need to fight for a budget that puts money and power where it belongs: with YOU. Here’s a deal that would work for Americans.

1. Restore the Medicaid cuts that would raise healthcare costs and emergency-room wait times for all Americans and kick 15 million Americans off their health insurance. 
2. Replace the $1 Trillion in tax cuts for the 1% with a tax cut for the 99% of America.
3. Repeal Trump’s tariffs on our allies, which raise costs for Americans.
4. Restore COPS grants so local law enforcement can hire more police to keep our communities safe.
5. Repair trust in our government by rooting out corruption, releasing the Epstein files, and banning stock trading by members of Congress. 

This isn’t hard. It’s actually what voters told both parties they want: lower costs, safer communities, rooting out corruption.”
