RICHMOND, VA – Today, Majority Democrats released a new video featuring Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger and Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Don Scott, giving an inside look at their significant and early legislative victories during the recent Virginia state legislature session and discussing how they delivered on their clear mandate to make life more affordable for Virginians. Governor Abigail Spanberger:

• “If anybody is in doubt about what the main thing is just listen to people, which is like the most overstated thing to give us political advice. But it’s really stunning that people will like, listen to focus groups or read polling. Just go talk to people because frankly, you know, people elect us to work on their behalf. So much of what is impacting people’s lives is the foundational stuff. And it’s amazing that, you know, people are talking about the same things. It might percolate differently. It might look a little different, but it’s all the same thing.”

• “If we think we are right about policy and we do, then it’s on us to convince people. Which is why so many of the bills in our affordability agenda and beyond have garnered really strong bipartisan support. And yeah, my hand is going to be tired from signing all those bills.”

Speaker Don Scott:

• “Virginians are looking for some hope, and they wanted somebody to literally talk to their needs. ‘How do I have a place to work? I have a good job earning a fair wage. Can I take a vacation once a year with my family and be able to afford it? That’s what folks are talking about. Can I get good health care? Can I have access to that good health care?’ That’s what we heard on the campaign trail all year, and I think we stayed focused on those issues. And that’s why the Governor had that historic win.”
