Majority Democrats
This afternoon, Majority Democrats Executive Director Rohan Patel released the following statement after Majority Democrats members on the ballot in 2026 officially swept their races, winning statewide in our top battlegrounds, securing federal House and Senate majorities, and making key gains down the ballot:
“Tuesday night, Democrats didn’t just win back the House and Senate. We shattered the conventional wisdom about where Democrats can win and who we can win over. Across the country, Democrats won back working-class, rural, and independent voters and turned Republican strongholds into battlegrounds. They proved what Majority Democrats has believed all along: When Democrats lead with conviction, fight for the communities they love, and have the guts to compete everywhere, we can win anywhere.
“Majority Democrats helped lead the charge. James Talarico, Sandra Jauregui, and Austin Davis showed Democrats can decisively win states Trump carried just two years ago. Our battleground House members, including Vice Chair Kristen McDonald Rivet, Gabe Vasquez, Josh Riley, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Maggie Goodlander, and Janelle Bynum, expanded their margins and helped deliver the House majority. In West Virginia, Kayla Young led the charge that more than doubled Democratic representation in the legislature, while Grant Hauschild is on track to win in Minnesota’s rural Iron Range. These victories weren’t handed to us. They were earned by leaders who refused to write off voters or communities.
“The lesson is clear: Democrats don’t need to look alike, think alike, or agree on everything to win together. We need leaders with backbone, independent judgment, and deep roots in their communities. You don’t build a lasting majority by talking only to people who already agree with you. You build it by winning over people who don’t. As we turn to What’s Next, that’s the type of party that Majority Democrats is working to build.”
Majority Democrats is a new organization committed to growing the Democratic Party so that it can compete everywhere and deliver concrete wins for the American people. From city halls to Congress, coast to coast, Majority Democrats consistently outperform the Democratic Party as a whole. They are the next generation of Democratic leaders—willing to challenge the establishment and break with party orthodoxy. They understand what matters to their communities and know how to win, especially in the places where Democrats underperform.
